Turri ("we", "our", or "us") is a social app for sharing moments with close friends. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Turri (also known as Whispr).

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide and improve the Turri experience:

• Email address (optional) — collected if you sign up with email/password or Apple Sign-In. Used for account authentication and recovery.
• Display name — a name you choose that is visible to your connected friends.
• Avatar emoji — an emoji you select as your profile avatar.
• Device tokens — used solely for delivering push notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
• Photos and media — user-generated content (photos, doodles, voice messages, video) that you share with your connected friends.
• Phone number (optional) — if you choose to verify your phone number for account authentication or friend discovery. Your phone number is stored securely and never shared with other users or third parties.
• Contacts (optional, with your permission) — if you choose to sync your contacts, we collect phone numbers from your device address book solely to help you find friends who are already on Turri. Contact phone numbers are cryptographically hashed before being uploaded to our servers — we never store or access your contacts' raw phone numbers, names, or other details.
• Usage data — basic analytics such as app opens, feature usage, and crash reports to help us improve the app.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• Precise location or GPS data
• Financial information or payment details (subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple)
• Health or fitness data
• Browsing history
• Raw contact names, emails, or addresses (only hashed phone numbers are stored if you opt in to contact sync)

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and maintain your account
• To deliver content you share to your connected friends and their home screen widgets
• To send push notifications about new content from your friends
• To process subscription status when premium features become available
• To verify your identity via SMS one-time password (OTP) when you choose phone authentication
• To help you discover friends who are already on Turri by matching hashed phone numbers from your contacts
• To improve app performance and fix bugs

4. Third-Party Services

Turri relies on the following third-party services:

• Supabase — provides our database (PostgreSQL) and authentication infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy
• Apple Sign-In — used as an optional authentication method. Apple's privacy practices apply. Apple Privacy Policy
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — used exclusively for delivering push notifications. No analytics or advertising SDKs from Firebase are included. Firebase Privacy
• Sentry — used for crash reporting and error diagnostics to help us identify and fix bugs. Crash data is not linked to your identity. Sentry Privacy Policy
• LiveKit — provides the infrastructure for voice and video calls between connected friends. Call session metadata (duration, participants) may be processed. LiveKit Privacy Policy

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data Retention

• Shared content (photos, doodles, voice messages) is automatically deleted after 30 days.
• Account information is retained as long as your account is active.
• Hashed contact data is retained only while your account is active and is deleted when you delete your account.
• Your phone number is retained only while your account is active. You may remove it at any time from your profile settings.
• You may delete your account at any time from within the app, which will remove all associated data from our servers.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), secure authentication tokens, and access controls provided by Supabase. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

7. Children's Privacy

Turri is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy within the app. Your continued use of Turri after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
